Job Description and Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities:

 

We have an opening for a detail-oriented development engineer who will work on the development on novel solid-state laser array systems. Responsibilities include: Modeling of free-space laser cavities, building prototypes, independent measurements and analysis of laser systems and providing detailed and technically thorough reports to an engineering review team. We are looking for a self-starter who can take general instructions and seek out all the elements needed to complete the assigned task.

 

Education and Work Experience

 

 *Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of work experience, or a master’s degree with 1+ years of work experience or a PhD

 

*Understanding of the optics and laser principles, with the ability to create simple mathematical models of a free-space laser

 

*Excellent communication skills

 

*Experience in the alignment of free-space laser systems

 

*Experienced in the use of test equipment, both optical (power meters, spectrometers interferometers, etc) and electrical (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc)

 

*Programming experience, either MATLAB, LabView, Python or Mathematica
